Designing Levels5/20/2022 Pre-Production - When first making this, I wanted to make a surrealistic map with creative environments. I started with designing what assets and object I wanted in levels to add gameplay and visuals. I made a rough draft of a legend containing these assets, and a rough draft of the map. Finished Level Maps - The player would move around levels in first person around a house with 3 leveled floors, each floor a level. Each level will have enemies you will have to hide from using obstacles like couches, crates, and tables. You are looking for objectives to proceed to each floor. How this will immerse you - The enemies and you can run fast, running throughout a cramped small house bringing thrill and scare to the game, also creative environment for visual enjoyment. Personal Reflection 5/13/225/13/2022 Over the past quarter, I have learned C# and its major importance. I learned how to debug and write scripts with very specific organization and key words, this creates unique and specific animations and actions to create a successful lively game. We are using "Unity Learn" and mission pathways to learn to create scripts and understand it. In my personal experience, I find this one of the most confusing and overwhelming part of creating games, I have barely gotten better at it by watching the tutorials but hope to become more skillful at it.
Junior Programmer Mission 3 Reflection5/13/2022 I learned OOP and its purpose in this process of coding. In general, it helped codes become more adaptable and understandable, creating better organization in scripts and codes. During the process, I learned how to demonstrate the 4 pillars of OOP, also make a title screen containing different names and subjects This makes coding more understandable and helps me become more aware and skillful at coding.
Junior Programmer Mission 2 Reflection5/13/2022 When doing this mission, I learned how to debug and anticipate errors on scripts. This makes my scripts for games more accurate to prevent or fix errors with the game which can make the game more fluid, less buggy, and better overall. I also advanced my concepts and conceptual designs like making a crate that slides horizontally to catch balls. This combines my creativity and technical skills creating an actual project, this will definitely help me down the road with comfort ability and skill in coding. These lessons or practices helped me further my skills to become better at coding.
Counting Prototype - https://play.unity.com/mg/other/catch-the-balls-3 Junior Programmer Mission 1 Reflection5/13/2022 I learned a lot from this mission in unity learn, I learned specific commands and components in C# to move, react, and more to create life and animation into games. I still find this very confusing and overwhelming and barely mastered or gotten comfortable with remembering and using/creating scripts on my own. I got enough information about making games and scripts from this mission, like the specific keywords to use to cause a specific attachment or action to the game. My overall experience was confusing and overwhelming but hope to keep growing at this subject and become better.
